For more than 50 years the Hotel & Restaurant Spessartstuben has been know
for its family atmosphere and high quality gastronomy.
Grandparents Fanny and Rudolf Spielmann laid the foundation for today's Spessartstuben.
In 1973 their daughter Gerdi Eckert and her husband Karl-Heinz Eckert took over
the former "Spessartstueberl". After a successful renovation of the Hotel
and Restaurant business - on the 07th of July 1977 - the former "Stueberl"
became "Spessartstuben".
With their high class cuisine, Gerdi and Karl-Heinz Eckert garnered a reputation that
went beyond the borders of Spessart.
In 2001, after years of traveling and gaining experience in different areas of
hotel and gastronomy, daughter Steffi Eckert and her partner Wofram Kopetz returned
to the family business. Influences from high quality family establishment hotels and
well known hotel chains such as Kronberg in Taunus, in the Black Forest, in Bad Saarow,
Berlin, Falkenstein, Heidelberg, England and San Francisco shaped their work and
professional knowledge, thus making them professional hosts.
With new ideas and inspiration, daughter Steffi and her partner Wolfram Kopetz took
over the management of the Hotel and Restaurant in 2005, and gave the
traditional home a fresh and modern touch.
Even football professionals such as Franz Beckenbauer, Guenther Netzer and Berti Vogts
have stayed in the traditional hotel, whose rooms and bathrooms have been recently renovated.
What have always remained are the exclusive cuisine and the family atmosphere, which makes
you feel at home away from home.
Personal care and a warm relationship with their guests are the priorities to Steffi Eckert and Wolfram Kopetz.
